Academic Personnel Processes
Faculty hiring, promotion and tenure processes involve a variety of departments at the university. More information will be provided directly to those participating in each process.
Promotion and Tenure
SHESC’s school director, personnel committee, HR specialist and the assistant to director are the points of contact for faculty academic processes. Please refer to the weekly email digest for academic process notices, updates and information.
Faculty Hiring
Committees will follow ASU and College procedures to conduct searches for tenure-track and non-tenure-track faculty. When finalists are approved for review by the full faculty, candidate materials will be made available electronically through a secure system. These materials must not be saved, shared, downloaded or otherwise distributed outside the SHESC faculty. Please contact the search committee chair and/or the assistant to director for specific questions.
Adjunct/Affiliate Appointments
Adjunct and affiliate appointments are one-year fiscal year appointments. An application for an adjunct or affiliate must filled out and reviewed by the Personnel Committee of the school, which shall make a recommendation to the entire faculty.
The deadline for new applications for adjunct and affiliate appointments is November 1. Renewal applications for both adjuncts and affiliates are due April 1.
